What is a blended approach?
Blended learning combines face-to-face classroom methods with computer-mediated activities. This integrated approach provides varied, current and inspiring content for students. On any given day, students can be found taking notes during a teacher lead talk in Bible, history, math, or science. Later, they might be working on a small group project, taking written or oral tests, working in our on-line classroom, observing a science experiment, or discussing the lessons with others.
Our Blended approach is designed to offer all of our learners an education that includes their natural learning style, but also helps develop the styles in which they may not be as proficient. We know that students learn differently. Kinesthetic learners develop faster when they are working with their hands or are actively part of the class. Auditory learners depend on hearing and listening as a way to gain a deeper understanding of material, and visual learners need to be able to see and visualize to better grasp a new concept.
The curriculum used at CCA is designed to meet standards for the State of Montana and the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). At CCA the term “curriculum” includes more than a course textbook. It includes the teacher, parent volunteers, community involvement, field trips and on-line instruction with Biblical values.
Capstone Christian Academy now partners with Alpha Omega Publications. Alpha Omega Publications (AOP) is a leading provider in PreK-12 Christian curriculum for Christian schools. AOP provides students and teachers with personalized support to give students the best educational experience available.
The Resource Room provides students with more focused time (often one-on-one) with a teacher using a personalized strategy (based on the students level) to accelerate the student's reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
