This past school year has been a blessing to us at Capstone. We'd like to thank all of our supporters and donators.
And a special thanks to our volunteers at school: PE Teacher - Mrs McGee, Art Teacher - Mrs Gilliland, Substitute Teachers, classroom help and cleaning - Mrs Blomquist, Mrs Lightfoot, Mrs Huff, Mrs Martian, Chapel music - Mr & Mrs Russell, Mrs Kenny, Coaches - Mr & Mrs McGee- Track, Mr Heiland - Wrestling. We'd like to note that next year Mrs Kenny will be moving to a different position -along with some new responsibilities, she will be our Intervention Specialist - working one-on-one with students who may need help in reading or math. Because of this move, we have the following position open: Job Opening - Teacher K-3rd GradeCapstone Christian Academy seeks a highly committed, enthusiastic, energetic Christian elementary teacher who will make student learning and discipleship their passion each school year as a K – 3 grade lead teacher. WelcomeCapstone Christian Academy is an Inter-Denominational School with grades K-12. We offer a blended approach to education.
Click Here for our Mission and Core Values What is a blended approach:Blended learning is education that combines face-to-face classroom methods with computer-mediated activities. This strategy creates a more integrated approach for both instructors and students.
Life at Capstone does not look like a traditional school. On any given day you could see students taking notes during a lecture in Bible, history, math, or science. Later in the same day, they might be busy working on a project in small groups. Students can be found taking written or oral tests, working on one of our on-line classes, observing a science experiment, or sitting around a table discussing lesson specific topics. We know that students learn differently. Kinesthetic learners develop faster when they are working with their hands or are actively part of the class. Auditory learners depend on hearing and listening as a way to gain a deeper understanding of material, and visual learners need to be able to see and visualize to better grasp a new concept. Our Blended approach is designed to offer all of our learners an education that includes their natural learning style, but also helps develop the styles in which they may not be as proficient. The Curriculum used at CCA is designed to meet State and ACSI standards. At CCA the term “curriculum” includes more than a course textbook. It also includes the classroom teacher, outside resources, supplemental materials, online instruction and other inputs that make up the course being taught. The CCA curriculum gives evidence that a biblical worldview is integrated and implemented into the instructional program and practices. The curriculum objective is to prepare students for their next level of education. |
